The working principle and characteristics of UV flatbed printers

April 15, 2024

With the continuous development of society and the continuous injection of technological power, printing technology has been greatly improved. Among them, the device with a wide range of applications is the UV flatbed printer. For many people who are new to this device, they still do not understand how to operate and use it.

The working principle of UV flatbed printer:

1. Printing principle: The UV flatbed printer adopts piezoelectric inkjet printing technology, which does not directly contact the surface of the material. It relies on the voltage inside the nozzle to spray ink from the nozzle onto the surface of the substrate to achieve the purpose of printing images. Among them, the nozzle plays a crucial role. Generally, a small nozzle has thousands of spray holes, which are difficult to see with the naked eye. The nozzle can finely control the ink output from the spray holes. Currently, the research and production of nozzles are core technologies, and there are no domestic companies that can produce them. Only foreign nozzles can be imported, with Japanese nozzles occupying the largest market share.

2. Curing principle: UV flatbed printers react with photosensitive curing agents in UV ink by emitting ultraviolet waves from LED cold light sources, causing pigment molecules in UV ink to solidify on the surface of the material, achieving ink drying. Unlike in the past, printing equipment requires processes such as baking and drying, which can reduce unnecessary equipment and personnel expenses while improving production efficiency. Due to the fact that UV ink itself can react with ultraviolet rays in sunlight and cause solidification, black bottles need to be used during storage and transportation to avoid contact with sunlight.

3. Positioning principle: UV flatbed printers can accurately control the purpose of printing patterns on different materials, volumes, heights, and shapes of the equipment. In the positioning of the axis, it mainly relies on the grating decoder to command the horizontal printing of the equipment; On the Y-axis, the length of the printed material is mainly controlled by the drive of the servo motor; In terms of height positioning, it mainly relies on the lifting function of the machine head. With these three positioning principles, UV flatbed printers can achieve precise positioning and printing of various types

The function of the pattern.

UV flatbed printers have the following four characteristics:

1. Personalized customization: You can print patterns such as photos and portraits of people without any restrictions.

2. 3D relief effect: The printed pattern visually presents a 3D effect, which feels uneven to the touch and increases added value.

3. Easy to operate: The computer controls the equipment, and after setting up the software, the subsequent automated printing saves labor.

4. Unrestricted materials: Based on the principle of piezoelectric inkjet, it does not come into contact with materials and can print a wide range of materials.
